13 reasons why by Jay Asher
Girl commits suicide, narrates the reasons in recordings mailed to the 13 people who contributed to the act. Gripping. (see later post)
The Best American Erotica 2006 edited by Susie Bright
From Susie Bright of Herotica fame, I felt dirty after reading this. I prefer Herotica. An okay read.
What I think: 6 unicorns
The Road by Cormac McCarthy
No sun, no food, cannibalism galore, people acting worse than zombies. Father and little boy against all odds. Terrifying.
What I think: 6 unicorns
The End of the Alphabet by C.S. Richardson
Man is about to die, embarks on an A-Z adventure with wife. Nice language. Too short, wish it were longer. (see later post)
Welostit and Other Stories by Romina M. Gonzalez
I first read title story a few years back and never forgot it. Excellent collection, bittersweet stories. Haunting.
What I think: 8.5 unicorns
